Not all nails are created equal, but that doesn’t have to stop you from having great hands. Welcome to the Cutting Garden Nail Service.
To coincide with the launch of the new Nail Bar we took a little time aside to have a chat about the Nail Service now available at Plymouth’s most popular hair salon.
A Nail Bar in The Cutting Garden
Adding a nail bar service to The Cutting Garden is something that has been discussed many times previously and demand from clients has been consistently high. Salon Manager, Hayley Palmer explained it like this:
“After interest from our lovely clients, we thought it would be something to really look into. Also, it’s good to be able to offer both, there’s nothing better than to go to just one place for hair and nails.”
So after a few nip and tucks in the salon, which involved removing a large unit and a washbasin, we created an ideal space upstairs. Now, we have our very own nail bar right here in the salon.
Currently, The Cutting Garden is only offering nail services. In other words, acrylic enhancements, shellac and mini manicures. But the salon is always listening to our clients and if enough of you want us to, maybe one day we can branch out into more services.
We have two very talented nail technicians, Katie and Becky, who are covering most of the week between them. Both have a great deal of experience in all aspects of nails care. They can transform your nails and the results are impressing our clients all the time.
What Does a Basic Manicure Include?
We offer a mini manicure for those who don’t fancy shellac or acrylic. This involves shaping the nails, tidying up of cuticles, followed by a relaxing hand massage with the special CND Scentsation cream. All our hand services are then completed by applying a coat of OPI nail strengthener.
The Beauty of Shellac
We highly recommend having shellac applied. Shellac is a 14-day no-chip gel polish. It is very, very resilient and holds an amazing shine. Also, it is easy to remove without damaging your nail if removed correctly.
Why is Shellac the Best?
We only use shellac at The Cutting Garden nail bar as it is part of CND (Creative Nail Design) range. CND is one of the most well-known brands in the nail industry. Hayley adds: “After using it for many years myself I would highly rate it and wouldn’t have gone for anything else. The quality never fails.”
Which Nail Styles are Really Hot Right Now?
“Nail designs come in and out of fashion all the time.” says Hayley.
“As we are now approaching summer the bright/pastel colours are all the rage. Teaming the nails with glitter designs is also a popular choice. You could have shellac on a natural nail if you prefer a shorter style or you could go for an acrylic set and go for the popular shape at the moment which is a longer coffin shape.”
Can I Have a Full Set of Acrylic Nails?
Most people can have an acrylic set of nails. As long as the natural nail is there and strong enough to hold a tip then you would be an ideal candidate. Ask the salon if you want more information about having a set applied.
Can I Book a Session Straight After my Haircut?
Yes, we can make appointments for you to have the nail treatment on the same day as your hair. You could even have time to fit in shellac or mini mani when your colour is being developed.
Also, every hair client receives 20% off their first nail booking. This great offer applies to new clients as well as existing clients.
If You Could do Any Celebrity’s Nails Who Would it be?
“Any of the Kardashian family. They are always uploading photos of their different styles and fashion changes so much. One minute you would be doing very natural looking nails, then the next a really long acrylic with crazy colours. It would be fun to do something different each time.”
How Often Should I Get My Nails Done?
Shellac is designed to last 14 days but can last around 3 weeks, which is the same as acrylic nails. Hayley adds, “It is down to personal preference on how often you would like to go, but I would recommend somewhere between 2-3 weeks.”
